You've eaten your weight in turkey and pumpkin pie and in your food-coma daze you think to yourself "wouldn't it be great to break up the holidays with a little trip before the Christmas craziness rolls around?" Don't waste all of your precious time navigating the internet for the best deals. We've got a good one for you here. Between WOW Air and United Airlines, you can go from Minnesota to England...for under  $500! That's right, no   language   barrier ! Do I like spending money? Absolutely not. Do I like to travel? Without a doubt, YES. If you find yourself with similar answers as these, boy do I have a surprise for you! While others may spend time surfing the web doing some online shopping at their favorite stores, I prefer scouring the internet looking for possible trips to take. Lucky for you, I've found some very appealing possibilities for you. While I am excited to share with you these fiscally feasible travel plans, I must include my disclaimer: 1. I am not a paid endorser for any of the following airlines to be mentioned. 2. Flights are for pre-set dates; altering days or times may switch availability. 3. These prices are always subject to change. 4. Most importantly, TRC likes to spend the bare minimum when it comes to travel expenses, so many of these flights are the most basic, lowest-class fares. (Most important when considering luggage fees.) Now that we've set your standards to this che

Building Iceland

Maybe it's because I was a history major or perhaps Ted Mosby is my long lost brother  cousin (I'm too tall). If the How I Met Your Mother reference didn't connect, I've just always been fascinated with architecture in general and whenever I go anywhere I am always in awe of the buildings of the area. Iceland, primarily Reykjavik, was such a unique place and the architecture reflected the country's character perfectly. I wasn't sure what to expect before I had arrived, but upon walking the streets I was overjoyed with the vast array of styles and colors. Building Iceland  showcases the distinct appearance of Reykjavik...or at least what I saw of it. Harpa You know how some places have very distinct looks to them? It's easy to describe the type of architecture there like modern, Victorian, colonial, or what have you. Well Iceland is not   a place that can defined by its architecture. There are mixes of European influence, modern style, what I just call I

K9 Camping

"Eva" With the summer season upon us it brings about one of my favorite activities: camping . From the time I was a little kid, I remember taking family trips down to the Black Hills of South Dakota where we would set up our tents, roast marshmallows, and sing kumbaya. Okay maybe not that last part, but camping has made for some great memories throughout my life and it continues to do so to this day. At the request of a fellow traveler and friend of mine, it is my pleasure to introduce some insight on the topic: camping with your K-9 companion! My entire childhood I had grown up with pets. Whenever my family and I would go camping we typically tried to find a dog-sitter for our our wiener dog Scooby, but every so often we got to bring her along. One might think it would only be a blast to bring the family pet with to camp, but it does have some drawbacks. While the brunt of the hassle probably laid on my parents more so than us kids, there are some things worth noting

A Little Taste of...Iceland?

Image
As corny  as the title may hint, if you have ever wondered what the cuisine is like on the tiny island nation of Iceland, then look no further! The Blue Lagoon  and Relaxed and Ready to Go!  highlighted a couple of the dining spots we found while visiting, but here you will find even more insight to some of the hot spots my friends and I discovered around Reykjavik. I have listed six great places I would highly recommend any one to check out when in Iceland. For more content be sure to click each link... 1. Omnom Chocolate Iceland in December means limited daylight hours, so when looking for things to do you need some creativity and a little luck. Perhaps the most pleasant surprise of our entire excursion was finding Omnom Chocolate in Reykjavik. Finding this designer candy company was by complete chance as our entire plan at this point of the trip was to just drive around and get lost. We figured if we drove around with no specific agenda, we'd eventually find something
