The Greatest Tool EVERY Traveller, Camper, Hiker, HUMAN Needs!

Image
Today, I was sitting around thinking of what I could write about. This was coming as a bit of a struggle for me. I don't want to post anything if I don't want to write anything. This site is supposed to convey my passions, and if I can't be passionate about something I'm writing then I don't want to pass that garbage on to any of you readers. Well, as I was brainstorming possible topics to write on today an idea came to mind. What if I could write about an item , some physical, tangible object that I have, use, and value unlike any of my other possessions? It's not my phone or wallet. It's not my vehicle or even my passport. This item is something much more important than any of those things: water. Well, what holds water. It isn't a YETI or Hydro Flask. It's not those water bottles you see all over TikTok saying they are "the coldest". What I believe to be the most valuable and priceless tool that any human being should invest in is a wat

Who the Heck is Scott?

...and why should I sign up for his emails?      I've mentioned this before and I'll mention it again. I have a tendency to provide transparent information on this site because I am just so passionate about travelling and exploring our world that I want others to have this access and knowledge too. That's why I name drop from time to time. If that results in people leaving my site to utilize others, that's fine with me. In the end, the more travellers the better!      When I discovered Skyscanner , I wasn't sure if I'd ever go back to KAYAK again. When Google Flights improved so much, I started using them as my go-to stop for flight deals. Then, I once got a deal so good through KIWI I questioned how I hadn't utilized that site sooner. After years of experience booking flights and hours upon hours of searching for the best deals, I've come to realize that there isn't just any one site you should exclusively use. You should use them all . Like a

If you're from North Dakota or Colorado, I've got trips for YOU!

As I am very much from the Midwest/Great Plains region of the United States, I feel like it is only right that for my first Deals! article since TRC3.0, I focus on a couple of great travel deals for my neighbors. Let's take a look at where us good ol plain folk are headed: NORTH DAKOTANS : Getting fed up with the 9-5 and looking to blow off some steam? Overinvest in AMC or Doge and looking to recoup some real cold, hard cash? Wanting to just get out and play? If you said yes to any of those three questions (and even if you didn't), then I have two words for you . VEGAS BABY Thanks to kayak.com , you  are leaving tomorrow  night, Thursday, June 17th, for a 3-day getaway in the deserts of Nevada! Departing from Bismarck, ND (BIS) at 10:27PM, you will hop on Allegiant's service and arrive to Sin City at 11:10PM local time. Las Vegas is notorious for having budget-friendly room rates, so finding the perfect place to "get away" from it all is just a quick search away

The Roaming Colt 3.0?

Image
I think  we're on our third attempt or so of garnering up some consistency with this whole Roaming Colt thing. Can I promise we won't see a 4.0 or a 5.0? No, but what I can promise is that 3.0 will be...worth the wait, I don't know. Boy I'm convincing you to stick around aren't I? Well, let's see, where do we begin? Probably from where we left off...      Last time you heard from this site was over three  years ago. Wow..how fitting for this to be TRC3.0. Anyway, three years ago it appears I attempted to transition this site into the website + a YouTube channel. Looking back on it all, I do wish I could have dedicated myself fully to that double-dose of travel storytelling, but the reality of it was, I think at that time, I had bitten off more than I could chew. Now unfortunately I cannot say I'm back in full force and ready to roll with the website & the YouTube channel again, but I would like to get back to do these things I'm passionate about

What is travel now?

Image
If you're like most wanderlusters, you're tired of being cooped up. You want to travel. You want to explore. You want to  live . Over the course of the past 18 months or so, you have probably grown ill from not being able to travel freely like we've grown so accustomed to. While it hasn't been  impossible  to travel since the start of the pandemic, it has made travel  extremely difficult .  Travelling during this period had become such an arena of stress and misinformation that a vast majority of nomads had done something that went against the very fiber of their being: we stayed put. Now whether or not that was a result of our own choices or various governments deciding that for us is up for conversation, but here we've been in a monumental time in humanity where we simply didn't explore. Some of us picked up new hobbies, some of us bought property for a "home-base," some of us binge-watched every last episode of our favorite travel shows, some o
